FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) announced today it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Level 1 Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) Competency.
GDIT is the first federal systems integrator to achieve this competency in all six specialization categories and successfully meet AWS’s rigorous standards for managed security services, spanning multiple security domains. The six specialization categories within the AWS Level 1 MSSP include modern compute security monitoring for containers and serverless technologies, identity behavior monitoring, managed application security testing, data privacy event management, digital forensics and incident response, and business continuity and ransomware readiness to recover from potentially disruptive events.
“The AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency recognizes GDIT’s expertise in providing managed security services to our federal government customers to secure their data and workloads in the cloud,” said Dr. Matthew McFadden, vice president for cyber at GDIT. “We have an important scope of work with AWS, and I am proud that GDIT is the first systems integrator to achieve this competency in all six specialization categories.”
Operating some of the largest cloud programs for the federal government, GDIT supports more than 50,000 Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances and more than 2,000 AWS accounts across its portfolio. In addition, GDIT has invested in the development of reusable solutions such as Cyber Stack and Zero Trust Accelerator, which are designed to leverage AWS to accelerate customers’ digital transformations.
GDIT has been a part of the AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program since 2016 and is a member of the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program and AWS Public Sector Partner (PSP) program. GDIT received the 2019 AWS Government Competency Public Sector Consulting Partner Award and the 2021 AWS Global Public Sector Partner Award. GDIT now has a total of 10 AWS competencies, provider and partner designations.
