Job Description

The ERDC DSRC ISSO Lead will be the primary point-of-contract for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC)) DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC) Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining the DSRC enclave’s security posture assigned acceptable risk level. Provide regular status updates to ERDC DSRC leaderships at weekly status meetings or established methods of oversight. Assignments and tasks assigned by ISSM must be completed by the ISSO in the timeline established by the ISSM. Lead and direct other local ISSOs at the ERDC DSRC to ensure continuity of the implementation of Department of Defense and HPCMPO security regulations by coordination of activities by the established timeline from the ISSMs. Candidate must possess strong and effective communication skills, both written and oral. Candidate must have a broad technical background in High Performance Computing management/support, capable of interacting and communicating with all disciplines of technical support staff at a DSRC to ensure center requirements are met. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development, modification, and implementation of the computing environment cybersecurity program plans, and requirements IAW with the RMF and IAVA Management, to include DISA STIGs/SRGs
  • Develop and/or implement procedures to ensure system users are aware of their cybersecurity responsibilities before granting access to DoD Information Systems
  • Process and review DD-2875s
  • Ensure users receive the necessary initial and annual cybersecurity training and certification(s) to carry out their duties
  • Ensure security violations and incidents are reported to the HPCMP CSSP and implement protective or corrective measures IAW the IRP
  • Ensure that cybersecurity requirements are integrated into Continuity of Operations Plans (COOPs)
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and SOPs concerning the security of system(s) operations
  • Develop and maintain the security requirements and list of hardware, software, and service acquisitions specific to network environment cybersecurity security programs
  • Ensure software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate computing environment security configuration guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Assist the ISSM with the preparation and maintenance of RMF authorization packages IAW the DoD RMF regulation and HPCMP guidance
  • Establish and maintain an eMASS account to facilitate uploading of artifacts and information to support the RMF and cybersecurity processes
  • Assist the ISSM with preparing for assessments and/or inspections from external and internal entities
  • Conduct annual control and plan testing. Provide results to the ISSM
  • Evaluate the presence and adequacy of security measures proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in DoD regulations and HPCMP documents
  • Advise the ISSM of any changes affecting the computing environment's cybersecurity risk level and security posture
  • Evaluate and approve development efforts to follow the Interim IATT) and/or Assess
  • Candidate must possess strong and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • 4+ years of High Performance Computing experience
  • Experience with HPC systems or experience in a Federal Data Center environment
  • Specific prior experience leading technical personnel

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or Information Systems or other related discipline. 
  • 5+ years of experience
  • CISSP or CISA or CISM or CompTIA Security + or Certified Ethical Hacker
  • Top Secret with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $112,967 - $152,837. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
